Volunteering
New Forest Disability Information Service relies on the valuable support of Volunteers in many areas of our work. Giving the gift of time makes such a difference to our charity, supporting our small team of staff, as well as those who benefit from our services.
Volunteering tasks include:
- Administration, filing, photocopying
- Leaflet and poster distribution
- Telephone and reception duties
- Demonstrating and selling disability related equipment
- Providing information and advice
- Fundraising
- Table sales and support at community events
- Trustees
Induction and training
We provide a comprehensive induction and training programme for all volunteers, which includes:
- Confidentiality
- Conflict of interest
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Health & Safety
Appropriate training is given before the voluntary role commences and is a mandatory requirement.
Pre-approved travelling expenses for our Volunteers are reimbursed.
All staff and volunteers undergo the DBS Enhanced Disclosures Check (at our expense).
